I-Macula Web is a user-friendly web application, easily accessible from all devices without the need to install software. It is designed for the management, sharing, and analysis of clinical data of patients affected by degenerative and vascular diseases of the macula.

The platform is designed for use in a clinic or an ophthalmology office. Users can add and manage patients' medical records, follow-up visits, treatment, diagnosis, and clinical history.

The application features a customizable calendar for each center, allowing easy management of patient appointments and therapies. Linked to the calendar is the programming of the patient's clinical pathway, developed according to guidelines provided for each medication. This functionality helps the user automatically set up therapies and follow-up visits, following the clinical protocol guidelines based on the chosen therapeutic regimen for each patient, with the aim of improving adherence and appropriateness of therapies.

The platform enables effective management, sharing, and reuse of information in primary care and clinical research. Clinical data can also be extracted for statistical purposes and used for clinical decision support systems.

Security

Confidentiality is one of the main requirements of the platform. To respect patient privacy, all sensitive data is stored with an encryption algorithm during the registration process and protected by a strict access rights policy. Patients are registered in the database by a doctor who works at the center where they receive healthcare services.

It is possible to set up two different types of users: clinical and administrative. The former will have access to every part of the application, while the latter will only be able to access the calendar section.

Data protection techniques by design and by default make the product compliant with the European data protection regulation (GDPR).
